Role Overview
We are growing our Infrastructure practice and need a Platform Engineer who is obsessed with developer experience and reliability. You will build and operate the Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stacks that power client production systems. You will be the kind of person who automates the thing that annoyed them last week, reads Kubernetes changelogs for fun, and treats the on-call rotation as a learning opportunity rather than a punishment.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate multi-cluster Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, GKE) for client projects
- Build GitOps CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Helm
- Develop observability stacks: metrics (Prometheus/Thanos), logs (Loki), traces (Tempo/Jaeger)
- Drive FinOps initiatives — Kubecost, Karpenter, Spot instance strategies
- Perform security hardening: CIS benchmarks, Falco runtime security, network policies
- Contribute to internal platform tooling and runbooks
Requirements
- 3+ years with Kubernetes in production (CKA strongly preferred)
- Strong Terraform — modules, state management, workspaces
- Experience with at least one GitOps tool (ArgoCD or Flux)
- Solid understanding of networking: VPCs, service mesh (Istio or Linkerd), Ingress
- AWS, Azure, or GCP (multi-cloud experience a plus)
- Scripting: Bash and Python for automation
- Incident management experience — you know what a good runbook looks like
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be on-call?+
Yes, for client infrastructure you own. Our on-call rotation is light — roughly one primary week per month. We have a strict escalation policy and invest heavily in runbooks so on-call is manageable, not brutal.
Is the CKA certification required?+
Strongly preferred but not a hard requirement if you have strong demonstrable hands-on Kubernetes experience. We will support you in achieving the certification if you do not already hold it.
